The easily replaceable filter system consists of three high quality air filters to ensure the air you breathe is fresh and clean.
No, unless the filter is designated a washable filter (which are generally cheaper and not as effective) they should not be washed and reused. With HEPA filters, washing will break fibers and make gaps between the fibers. This would allow more particles to pass through the filter decreasing performance significantly. With activated charcoal filters, they are designed to reduce or eliminate gas and odors. They significantly lose their effectiveness if washed.
Yes. The filter system in the Air Shield is user replaceable. It is recommended to replace the complete set of 3 filters with the filter system designed for the Air Shield. You can order them here.
The Air Shield fan runs at one speed producing a sound level of approximately 32 decibels.
Yes, the USB cable will plug into a portable power supply and operate effectively.
The Air Shield should not be worn as a substitute for a gas mask if you are in a situation in which complete coverage of the face and an external air source is required. Also, the Air Shield is not recommended for sports or outdoor activities on windy days.
The device will charge from discharged to full charge state in approximately 90 minutes. A good rule of thumb is that for every hour of use, allow 15 minutes of charge time.
When in a cold environment, there can be some fogging in the lower portion of the face shield as warm breath hits the face shield. The airflow from above the forehead will keep eyeglasses from fogging up.

The air flow is designed to flow at the rate which offers the best air quality from the filters. If flow is slower or faster than currently configured, the filters would degrade more quickly and not be as effective. Also, when wearing outdoors on a windy day (generally over 15 miles per hour), the air flow can be compromised and not work as well.
Double-check your fit by releasing and then re-tightening the back knob on the headband. The Air Shield is not designed as a one-size-fits-all device. If retightening and adjusting to your head size isn’t working for you, please contact us at contact@safeairhealth.org for quick assistance.

In addition to the HEPA filter, the easily replaceable air filter system incorporates two additional filters, both activated charcoal, to protect against volatile organic compounds and gases.
Our Air Shield is designed to ensure clean and safe air around you wherever you go. Its internal fan draws air in through openings on top of the face shield, passes it through the filter, and releases it back out through a strong air curtain between your face and the face shield. With air flowing out at over 100 liters per minute, the air curtain ensures that you receive only filtered, clean air and nothing else. Don’t be afraid to go outside and take on the day; you’re sure to have the safest and cleanest air around with our Air Shield.
